It's a hard problem to solve. One thing that doesn't get discussed enough is "Responsible Social Media Usage."
Most people never get trained on how to use social media and go in blind. I think training people on how they can use social media in a productive, deliberate, and meaningful way can make these tools a force for good rather than societal detriments.
How indeed. One word we as a country generously use when referring to others, especially when governing systems differ, is “reform.” Still, we seldom think of reforms as an instrument for self-development, just a means for developing others. There are ways it just hasn't hurt enough yet. We haven't experienced suffering as a people in the ways others have around the world since the antebellum period. Experiences like these, for example, https://newlinesmag.com/first-person/albanians-besa-a-generous-response-to-genocide/
"Careful what you wish for" my moma always cautioned.
As I recall, after the 2016 election the DNC et al conceded they weren't social media savy as they assumed: something like 25% +/- of the under 25 cohort wasn't even aware of [Nov] election. Subsequently - to this day - massive and widespread efforts have been to capture [and then appraise] as many voters as possible. These efforts and expenditures [charities and non-profits of course] put the promise of a tankard of grog to shame.

It’s by far more precise that’s reporting of COVID deaths let’s say. I enjoyed the article. I found the reporting interesting and thought provoking. It’s hard to hear about mental issues plaguing America and our children.
Great article. What interested me was how you described that the echo chamber problem exists even on platforms that may consider themselves idealogically agnostic due to their feed algorithms. That is certainly true, especially on Twitter.
It will be interesting to see how social networks evolve in the coming years. Obviously we have a certain view that lead us to create NOBL.
BTW, we have just launched an early beta of our platform and would be honoured if you would come check us out. https://bit.ly/NOBL-Google-Play-tw
❝Coaching them into victimhood will only cause paranoia and distrust.❞ This line says everything about the impacts of social media and the American Culture dynamic.
Yuri Bezmenov predicted all this in 1984. The question now is can we reason with demoralized people and reverse cultural rot? https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/how-to-reason-with-a-demoralized

Bezmenov means “No name” -- are you trying to joke with us?
Thank you and -- and Ukraine update:

Love the incredible precision on Americans with mental illness... - to a second decimal -- 19.86%.
Such idiotic reporting make the whole thing silly and sloppy. How such reporting is permissible?

Good job rabbit 🐰
